Selfless Service, Lasting Impact
At CEDARS, strong community partnerships help bring our mission to life, and the Kappa Delta chapter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln continues to be a meaningful part of that work.
With lifetime contributions totaling $233,717.43, Kappa Delta has earned recognition as a CEDARS Honorary Trustee, reflecting years of dedicated support for children and families in our community. Through philanthropy events, volunteer efforts, and ongoing advocacy, Kappa Delta members make a lasting impact on the kids at CEDARS while also deepening their members’ connection to service.
“Our partnership with CEDARS is one that means so much to our members because it allows us to make a tangible impact on children and families throughout our community,” shared Kappa Delta member Maya Brannen.
Kappa Delta’s commitment to CEDARS is rooted in their core value of selfless service, which is reflected in the many ways members actively engage with our mission. They annually host a fundraiser, KD Quesadillas, as a way to give back to CEDARS. In addition, they will be hosting the first ever Kappa Delta Klassic golf tournament this fall, with proceeds benefitting the kids and families in our care.
Kappa Delta has deepened their impact beyond their fundraising efforts. In fact, some members have gone on to become CEDARS staff members, like alumna Carsyn Poppe. She shared of her experience: “CEDARS helped me discover my passion for working with kids and families in places that are accessible to them, which eventually led me to pursue a career in school psychology.”
Through shared values and a deep commitment to service, this partnership continues to ensure kids are able to find safety and stability.
Thank you, Kappa Delta, for your selfless service and continued support!
