Kyra and Ollie's Story

Kyra is a young mom doing her best to provide a better life for her infant son, Ollie. At just 17, Kyra has faced many challenges, but her love for Ollie keeps her going. 

When she was no longer welcome at home, Kyra found herself navigating life as a single mother without a support system. With the help of CEDARS, Kyra and Ollie are now living in a safe apartment. Ollie attends CEDARS Early Childhood Development Center so Kyra can attend classes during the day. She hopes to be a nurse someday.  

Kyra has made great progress in providing a better life for her son. However as the holidays approached, she began to feel like her progress was not enough. She was worried she would not be able to provide any gifts for her son.

Thankfully, our community stepped up to adopt not only Ollie but Kyra as well for the holidays. Their selflessness and generosity will make it so that this family experiences the joy of the season.
