Josiah's Story

When Josiah and his sister, Sophie, were no longer safe at home, they were placed with a foster family. However, when Josiah had to leave his foster home, he came to CEDARS while our staff worked to find him a new, stable place to stay.

While Josiah stayed with us at CEDARS, Sophie and Josiah kept in touch through phone calls. Sophie expressed her concerns about her brother’s safety in a different place where he knew no one. Josiah reassured her calmly and confidently: “I promise it’s safe here. Everyone is so nice. I love it.”

His words are a testament to the compassion and care provided by our dedicated staff, who work tirelessly to create a safe and welcoming environment for kids like Josiah. We are incredibly grateful for the people who make it possible for kids to feel at home, even during difficult times.
