2026 Spring Webinar Series - Preventing Harm, Promoting Hope: Nebraska's Pathways to Child Welfare Prevention
This series highlights Nebraska's services and education dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect. It will focus on the support available to families in crisis and how to connect them with vital community resources.
We will explore protective factors that reduce the risk of abuse and neglect; child welfare prevention work efforts by the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services, prevention and family-support programs across the state; the state’s new Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics; and work being done by Children’s Nebraska hospital to address and prevent abuse and neglect.
These trainings have been pre-approved for 1.0 NE CLE Accreditation hour each. Activity numbers can be found on each events page.
Understanding Nebraska's Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics
This webinar will provide an overview of the newly developed Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) across Nebraska.
In this session, you will:
Learn about the federal requirements and state requirement for CCBHCs
Detail how CCBHCs came to be in Nebraska and their ongoing development across the state
Hear about the various locations and how to get individuals and families connected

Speaker: Rachel Meier, MA, LIMHP, Clinical Administrator, Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health
Rachel Meier is a Lincoln Nebraska native, and she obtained her Nebraska mental health practitioner license in 2012, her independent license in 2015, and a mental health counseling license in Kansas in 2021. She has been working in the field for over 15 years and has spent most of her time working in residential and private practice settings. During her time working for DBH, she has focused on expanding and enhancing clinical services across Nebraska and advocating for the destigmatization of mental health and substance use issues.
