Session 2: This presentation will address commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) in young males. The presenters will examine the risk factors for exploitation and the subsequent trajectory for male who have experienced CSE, specifically youth aged 24 and below. This review will also include the common sequalae experienced by these youth including the various social, emotional, and behavioral consequences of this form of sexual trauma. The presentation is based on a comprehensive scoping review conducted through the use of Covidence, an online systematic review program. This review includes research published since the year 2000 until current day, and involved use of the following databases: PubMed, Science Direct, PsycINFO, Web of Science, and Scopus. From these databases, studies were screened based on relevance to the subject and assessed for inclusion in the review. The review process will be shared, and the results of the review will be presented.

Maureen C. Kenny, Ph.D. Dr. Kenny is a Professor of Psychology and Associate Chair of Academic Personnel in the Department of Psychology. She is a licensed psychologist, Nationally Certified Counselor and Qualified Supervisor (Florida). She is a faculty member in the Applied Social and Cultural Psychology Program. She has published extensively in the area of child maltreatment, with a specific focus on child sexual abuse, prevention and treatment with diverse populations. Her work also addresses the issue of mandatory reporting laws among professionals. Dr. Kenny is recognized as an international expert in prevention of sexual abuse and compliance with mandatory reporting laws. Dr. Kenny has published over 95 peer reviewed articles, has made over 100 professional presentations at national, international, and regional conferences and authored over 18 book chapters and three books. She is a fellow of Division 37 of the American Psychological Association and was the inaugural recipient of the Citizen Psychologist Award from Division 37 in 2019.

Kevin Ortiz Diaz, MS is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a doctoral student in Florida International University's Applied Social and Cultural Psychology program. As part of his research training, Kevin has received intensive training in the methodology involved in scoping and systematic reviews.
