EXTERNAL Human Trafficking 101

This is a trauma‑informed training developed by Kristi House and approved by the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) to help professionals and community members recognize, understand, and respond safely to human trafficking. The session covers sex trafficking, labor trafficking, and the commercial sexual exploitation of children, including legal definitions, current national and Florida data, common myths, vulnerabilities, trafficker tactics (online and in person), the impact of trauma and trauma bonding, red flags and indicators, person‑first language, and clear guidance on reporting and connecting youth to local and national resources.
